State Farm details ‘Human + Digital’ strategy

State Farm  shared additional details about its “Next Gen Good Neighbor” strategy, outlining a technology-driven transformation focused on faster claims handling, personalized pricing, and deeper integration between digital tools and agents.

The insurer described the approach as “Human + Digital,” combining AI, data, and platform modernization with its agency model. Initiatives include consolidating systems into a single insurance platform, expanding use of telematics data through Drive Safe & Save, and working with tech companies including OpenAI.

On the claims side, State Farm said it is streamlining intake, triage, and documentation workflows and piloting an AI-powered virtual assistant for first notice of loss. The company also highlighted investments in underwriting models that use advanced data and telematics inputs to support risk-based pricing and services such as accident assistance.

The carrier is also rolling out new tools for agents, including Navi, an AI-powered assistant embedded within its agent management platform, and Household Story, an AI-based customer intelligence tool that summarizes household needs and recommends products. State Farm said infrastructure upgrades have already reduced friction in quoting and routine transactions.

In financial services, State Farm said it is expanding training, planning tools, and product offerings across life insurance, retirement, and investment services.

“For more than a century, being a good neighbor has meant keeping our promises and helping people. We are transforming into a Next Gen Good Neighbor by using technology in new ways that enhance our ability to help people protect what matters most and prepare for what is next. This Human + Digital approach combines the best of State Farm in service of our customers.” – State Farm CEO Jon Farney.
