State Farm announces collaboration with Netflix

State Farm  has partnered with Netflix on a co-branded campaign tied to season 2 of Running Point, the basketball comedy series starring Kate Hudson and Chet Hanks. The campaign launches today and includes a commercial featuring Jake from State Farm alongside characters from the show.

The partnership also goes beyond advertising. State Farm said Jake from State Farm will make his first scripted television appearance in the upcoming season, marking a deeper brand integration into the series itself. Netflix’s second season of Running Point is set to premiere on April 23.

This is more of a marketing and brand placement play than an insurance product announcement, built around State Farm’s basketball-focused “With the Assist” platform.

“State Farm is all about showing up like a good neighbor. My character, Isla Gordon, is constantly coming through for her team, navigating risk and supporting the people around her, so bringing in Jake from State Farm for an assist was perfect. Plus, State Farm has been genuinely committed to supporting women in sports and the WNBA for over a decade both on and off the court, so working with them for season 2 of Running Point was such an easy fit.” – Kate Hudson, star and executive producer of Running Point.
