EverQuote is Officially a Trusted Choice Headache

Cambridge-based lead gen company EverQuote announced its expansion to life and home insurance. Till now, the company was basically a car insurance marketplace that promised the ability to compare car insurance quotes. Keyword: promised. Looks like life insurance leads are redirected to (at least) PolicyGenius, while renters / home insurance leads are redirected to…no one you really know. Look.

EverQuote, was established in 2010, and has since raised a bit over $37M at a valuation of ~$200M (that’s two thirds the valuation of Trov, according to the word on the street). Also, according to the company, they’ve “gained additional access to over 7,000 agents through the PRO platform.”

Moving on. The Coverager effect? Less than a month after Avi reviewed the process of buying insurance leads via EverQuote to discover that you can gain access to shoppers’ personal data without having a valid agent license number, EverQuote is now sure to emphasize that it “has also added an enhanced onboarding and agency validation process”.
