Dutch insurer Reaal launches a P2P insurance scheme

Dutch insurer Reaal launched a P2P insurance scheme. Think: POT.

POT is a mobile app that allows participants to form groups to cover their stuff. Together, the group decides who shares what risk with whom and what claims get approved. At the end, any money left in the pot is returned to the participants. According to Madelon Simons, Head of Digital Innovation at Vivat, the holding company of Reaal, this idea came from a customer panel that found that “starting a pot with friends was appreciated”. Sounds a bit like Finnish startup Fair. Recall P2P players here.

PS – Vivat was acquired by Anbang last year.
