Sedgwick launches Global Specialty Platform for complex claims

Sedgwick has launched a Global Specialty platform focused on handling large and complex losses across marine, energy, and other technical risk categories, expanding its specialty claims operations on a global scale.

The rollout includes expanded capabilities in London and other insurance and reinsurance markets, supported by dedicated training programs and the company’s global operating infrastructure.

Global Specialty will be headquartered in London and led by Damian Ely as chief executive officer and Kevin Hagan as chief commercial officer, with additional hubs across Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.

More than 100 specialty loss adjusters are expected to join the platform. David Boghurst will lead Global Specialty Marine, adding technical and average adjusting capabilities, while Hugh Kennaway will oversee onshore energy and Gary Mawditt will lead offshore energy.

The platform is structured to support cross border claims coordination and align specialty teams across regions as demand for complex claims expertise continues to grow.
