VSK To Offer Instant Insurance to Freelancers via YouDo

Moscow-based insurer VSK has announced a 5-year agreement-slash-joint product with YouDo, a digital service to allow users to find professionals for misc. tasks, AKA a Russian TaskRabbit.

To kick off the joint venture, the duo will offer third-party liability insurance for freelancers beginning Q2, 2019. Insurance coverage will be embedded in the platform as part of a variety of tasks and claims will be triggered based on specific occurrences, e.g. damaged or lost items. Decision time for each case will be no more than 2 days, and compensation for damages in some cases will be up to 100,000 rubles (~$1.5K).

“Launching liability insurance is an important step for us. Security service has always been a priority, this year we will pay even more attention to this. In addition to the rating and feedback, we give users tools that reduce the likelihood of conflicts and relieve tension when ordering services. YouDo became the first P2P-marketplace in Russia to launch user insurance through a partner and online – it is important for us that this product is not only useful, but also convenient from the point of view of user experience. We are glad that there is a company on the market ready to support us. We expect that VSK insurance products for customers and YouDo performers will play the same role as CTP – for all road users.” – YouDo cofounder Denis Kutergin.

“We are focused on the active implementation of advanced insurance solutions and form the best service for the client, which is why we see great prospects in joint development with the YouDo service. I am sure that the new product will be useful to most users – according to our forecasts, already 5-6 thousand tasks will be protected by our product this year. At the same time, in our immediate plans we will introduce several more interesting solutions. So, for example, youDo checked and active performers, thanks to the mechanism of instant risk assessment, we plan to compensate for breaks due to illness, provide coverage for voluntary medical insurance, as well as insurance against accidents. I hope that our project with YouDo will push the entire market towards an even more intensive uberization.” – VSK CEO Oleg Ovsyanitsky.
