SoftBank cuts Lemonade stake below 5%
SoftBank has reduced its ownership in Lemonade to 4.8%, according to its latest disclosure, marking the first time the investor has fallen below the 5% threshold. The move continues a multi-year unwind that has steadily lowered SoftBank’s influence over the company.
The decline is notable when compared with recent years. As of December 31, 2023, SoftBank-affiliated entities owned 17.1% of Lemonade’s outstanding common stock, and as of December 31, 2024, that figure stood at 14.7%, with both years corresponding to 9.9% of total voting rights under Lemonade’s Amended Charter.
Lemonade is trading at $70.49, up 1.56% on an all-time basis, but a shorter time span tells a different story: the stock has more than doubled from $32.11 in January 2025.
