Meet Extend , the San Francisco-based startup allowing merchants to offer product protection plans for their customers:
Founded in 2019 and currently a team of 8 according to LinkedIn, Extend offers a plugin that works with leading ecommerce platforms such as Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce and others, along with an API solution for those with a custom online store. The company also states that it has an offline option for those looking to offer protection plans in a physical location. As far as underwriting, Extend claims that it works with “a network of top rated insurance companies,” which allows the company to “match products with the best protection plans, optimized for price, term, and type of service.”
The startup is led by Woodrow Levin, Joe Moss and Rohan Shah, and according to LinkedIn, managing partner at Lightbank – Victor Pascucci – who led the Series A round in Clearcover, is listed as a board member.
