Sammons backs $1.4 million Sioux Falls grants

Sammons Financial Group  and its member companies, including Midland National Life Insurance Company and North American Company for Life and Health Insurance, have partnered with Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to distribute $1.4 million in grants to 19 nonprofits in Sioux Falls through the Member Impact Fund.

The funding supports affordable housing and community development initiatives, including job training, financial literacy, food access, and youth programs. The matching grant program is designed to expand the reach of local nonprofits by providing capital for capacity building and operational needs.

Sammons Financial Group said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to community investment in Sioux Falls, where it has also contributed over $1.1 million to local organizations in the past year and an additional $200,000 during Giving Tuesday.

The Member Impact Fund, launched in 2023 by the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, has distributed more than $83 million in grants to date, generating over $113 million in total support for community and housing initiatives across its network.
