No quotes from Lantern
Lantern Insurance , part of Sammons Financial Group , no longer appears to be offering term life quotes directly to consumers.
We first covered Lantern in February 2025 following the brand’s announcement. The brand offered term life nationwide except in New York, Maine, and Puerto Rico, with policies issued by Lantern Insurance Company (a rebrand of Bestow Life Insurance Company).

Sammons completed its $20.6M acquisition of Bestow Life Insurance Company on July 1, 2024, resulting in $14.5M in admitted goodwill, which represents 41% of the carrying value of the investment.
“On July 1, 2024 the Company (North American Company for Life and Health Insurance) purchased Bestow Life Insurance Company (“BLIC”) for $20,614,044 in cash. This acquisition is accounted for under the statutory purchase method. The purchase resulted in statutory goodwill of $14,530,312, all of which is admitted. The admitted book value of BLIC as of March 31, 2025 is $32,524,957, including $13,440,539 of unamortized admitted goodwill. Admitted goodwill is 41% of the carrying value of the Company’s investment in BLIC.”
Bottom Line: As pointless as Liberty Mutual’s Lulo brand.
