Plasmatic Technologies eyes insurance distribution with smart home data

San Diego-based property analytics company HazardHub and connected home data company Plasmatic Technologies partnered to have HazardHub’s risk scores and property attributes complement the home insights provided by Plasmatic’s Alana platform and mobile app. With all data elements tightly coupled into the profile of each property and available in a service provider dashboard, insurance providers can deliver personalized digital experiences which in turn help homeowners take proactive measures to reduce both the likelihood and severity of perils.

One such insurance carrier is Amica, which has integrated Alana into its home maintenance and inventory app Home Check.

“At Amica, nothing is more important than being a great partner for our customers. Plasmatic’s expertise in targeted customer engagement, as well as its smart home knowledge and unparalleled support, make this a natural fit. With the addition of property and peril risk information, we’re even better positioned to deliver value to our policyholders to help safeguard their properties and valuables from loss.” – Dan Belhumeur, Innovation Manager in Amica’s Digital Solutions and Innovation group.

“Our solutions were designed from the outset with the guiding principal of flexibility to support not only the constantly evolving landscape of connected home devices but tap into the enormous potential of AI enabled data services to complement our Smart Home telematics and customer engagement capabilities. We scanned the market for an agile provider that can offer us a complete and API accessible data source that fulfills our immediate and long term needs for property and risk data. HazardHub ticked all the boxes to the benefit of our customers.” – David Sussman, Plasmatic’s CEO.

“This partnership is a testament to our capabilities and investment in building scalable data services that are of intrinsic value to forward-thinking partners and insurance carriers. Plasmatic and our organization have developed a truly synergistic partnership and we’re looking forward to bringing our combined capabilities to additional carriers as engagement and hazard data become increasingly important for proactive insurance going forward.” – John Siegman, Founder of HazardHub.
