Lemonade integrates with Tesla vehicles

Lemonade is rolling out a direct integration with Tesla vehicles, eliminating the need for a plug-in telematics device in its Pay Per Mile product. The move allows Tesla drivers to activate Lemonade Car seamlessly while cutting hardware and shipping costs.

According to cofounder Shai Wininger, Tesla’s API provides more accurate driving data than traditional UBI devices, enabling Lemonade to offer better pricing and rewards tied to safe driving and Full Self-Driving (FSD) use.

Based on our analysis, California remains Lemonade’s largest auto market, with about 30,000 auto policies compared to roughly 256,000 Tesla insureds in the state.

Across all markets, Lemonade reported 84,273 auto policies in 2025.
