Experian acquires AtData to expand identity and fraud capabilities

Experian has acquired email intelligence provider AtData, strengthening its identity, authentication, and fraud prevention capabilities.

The acquisition adds more than 10 billion email addresses and real time email activity signals to Experian’s data assets. The combined capabilities are designed to help organizations verify identities, assess risk, and engage customers more confidently across digital channels.

AtData specializes in validating and enriching first party email data, enabling businesses to improve customer matching, reduce fraud, and enhance marketing performance. Its platform processes more than 150 billion deterministic signals each month and delivers identity intelligence through real time APIs and integrations.

Experian said the deal builds on a partnership between the two companies that has spanned more than 15 years and supports its broader strategy to expand AI driven identity and decisioning infrastructure across industries including financial services, insurance, and healthcare.
