Cincinnati Insurance chief claims officer to retire

Cincinnati Insurance announced that Marc J. Schambow, chief claims officer for its property and casualty subsidiaries, will retire in January 2027 after nearly 40 years with the company.

Schambow has led Cincinnati’s claims organization since 2020. He began as a field claims representative in Wisconsin, later served as a casualty claims supervisor, became the first claims manager at Cincinnati Specialty Underwriters Insurance Company in 2007, and assumed leadership of the field claims team in 2014.

Todd V. McMillan will take executive responsibility for Cincinnati’s headquarters and field claims teams following Schambow’s retirement. McMillan most recently served as corporate senior vice president and head of liability claims at Safety National Casualty Corporation. His prior roles include private practice, staff counsel at GEICO, and claims leadership positions at The Hartford.

As part of the transition, claims operations will report to Chief Legal Officer Thomas C. Hogan.

Spray said the new structure will bring claims and legal operations under Hogan’s direction to improve coordination on litigated claims.
