Let me explain. Last year, we reported that SureBuddy – an app that offers free coverage in exchange for watching ads – has expanded its geographic footprint to Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa and India.

To offer its primary products – funeral insurance and/or screen cover insurance – it partnered with Shriram Life in India and African Unity Life in South Africa. “We aim at bringing people into the safety net of life insurance by means of this initiative which has the potential to reshape the insurance landscape in the country” – MD and CEO at Shriram Life, Casparus Kromhout, at the time of the announcement. That was then (Feb. 2018). This is now:
