BMW partners with Trygg-Hansa

Swedish insurer and a subsidiary of RSA, Trygg-Hansa , is BMW Group Sweden’s new insurance partner for motor insurance. The agreement, which enters into force on 1 January 2022,  includes both brand insurance, car damage guarantee, car park insurance, and extended warranty for BMW, MINI, and BMW Motorrad, which will be Trygg-Hansa’s first brand insurance for motorcycles.

The collaboration with Trygg-Hansa gives BMW’s customers the opportunity to choose between a number of different insurances depending on whether the customer prefers to own or rent their car or motorcycle. Car buyers who buy a new or used BMW are offered to take out a free two-week insurance directly with the car dealer. Trygg-Hansa’s collaboration with BMW also includes packaged insurance solutions for both private and corporate leasing.

“I am incredibly happy and proud that BMW chooses Trygg-Hansa as the complete supplier of motor insurance. BMW’s choice is proof that we understand both the industry and the needs of the BMW driver. My colleagues and I look forward to getting to know Sweden’s BMW drivers and to offering insurance that meets the expectations of a market-leading motor insurance.” – Anders Alfredsson, Head of Partnership at Trygg-Hansa.

Trygg-Hansa will appoint a team of insurance advisers who receive special training on Trygg-Hansa’s BMW insurances in order to best serve BMW’s customers.

“In Trygg-Hansa, we get a committed and well-established partner with extensive experience in motor insurance . Regardless of whether it concerns BMW, MINI or BMW Motorrad, Trygg-Hansa understands the needs of both our dealers and customers. The partnership gives us exactly what you should get from an insurance company, security.” – Niklas Sjöberg, CEO of BMW Financial Service Sweden.

The agreement with BMW initially runs for over 3 years with the possibility of renewal for two years, one year at a time. The main part of the agreement consists of car damage insurance for new BMW cars. Every year, BMW sells approximately 23,000 new BMW cars in Sweden.
