Bamboo Insurance files for IPO
Homeowners insurance MGU Bamboo Insurance has filed a registration statement with the SEC for a proposed initial public offering.
The Midvale, Utah-based company plans to list its Class A common stock on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker BMB. The number of shares and price range have not been determined.
J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley are joint lead bookrunners, with Deutsche Bank Securities, Evercore ISI and Wells Fargo Securities acting as active bookrunners.
Bamboo describes itself as a technology-enabled, underwriting-first and capital-light MGU that manages data science, underwriting and claims handling while partnering with a diversified group of capacity providers.
Bottom Line: Bamboo has had a busy exit path: White Mountains acquired the company in 2023, CVC bought it for $1.8 billion in 2025, and it is now pursuing an IPO. Its MGA premium growth slowed from 199% in 2023 to 122% in 2024 and 58% in 2025.
