Ardonagh launches specialty insurtech Axiiem

The Ardonagh Group  has launched Axiiem, a specialty insurance technology business aimed at connecting brokers, insurers, and capacity providers through a proprietary digital trading platform.

The new unit, led by Executive Chairman James Masterton, will initially focus on digital trading and capacity solutions for selected distribution partners. Ardonagh said Axiiem uses technology developed internally over several years to streamline specialty insurance placement through data-driven underwriting and portfolio distribution.

The launch follows Ardonagh’s investments in data infrastructure, analytics, and AI, including the creation of Ardonagh Intelligence in 2025. Chief Executive David Ross said Axiiem emerged from seven years of building proprietary data capabilities and digitally enabled placement tools, describing it as a standalone business intended to improve how insurance capacity is distributed.
