APOLLO introduces free address changes for tenant policies

Canadian digital insurance provider APOLLO Insurance introduced a new feature allowing tenants to update their address on an existing insurance policy at no additional cost when moving anywhere within Canada.

The update can be completed through APOLLO’s online self service portal without requiring a new policy, premium recalculation, or additional underwriting questions. According to the company, tenants moving between provinces will generally keep the same premium, although provincial tax differences may result in minor adjustments.

APOLLO+ customers will also retain their renewal pricing following an address change. The company said the feature is designed to reduce friction for renters, who tend to relocate more frequently than other insurance customer segments.

“Renters move more often than any other segment of the market, and the insurance process shouldn’t make that harder,” said Marco Andolfatto, Chief Underwriting Officer at APOLLO. “We’ve removed the administrative burden that typically comes with an address change so tenants can stay focused on their move, not their insurance.”
