Allianz to insure EasyMile’s autonomous vehicles

Allianz and EasyMile have signed an International Framework Agreement to  establish insurance solutions for EasyMile’s shared driverless transportation projects as of January 1, 2017. The partnership will allow EasyMile to enjoy third-party liability and motor own damage insurance coverage for its EZ10 driverless electric vehicles. “Autonomous driving will be a key paradigm shift for automotive insurers and we have the ambition to be at the leading edge of this topic. The partnership with EasyMile is the consequent result of our Automotive Innovation Center translating technological advancements into innovative insurance solutions. In the upcoming months we will be able to broadly test, learn and further develop products and services in this emerging business segment” – Member of the Board of Management of Global Automotive, Allianz Worldwide Partners, Matthias Wuensche. Bottom Line: such projects have already been launched in Germany, Norway and US.
