Direct Pojišťovna offers digital roadside assistance
Czech non-life insurer Direct Pojišťovna has launched a digital roadside assistance service.
“They are often stressed after an accident. We wanted to allow them to order the tow truck themselves with a few clicks, so that they did not have to describe where they were, but to be able to read it from their mobile phone. They will no longer have to explain where they are – the tow truck will know their location exactly a few meters.” – Michal Kozub, Product Innovation Director.
When customers need assistance, they call the insurer’s helpline and are offered the choice to use the digital service – a link to download the web app is sent to them via SMS. The app will pre-fill in the customers’ contact number, license plate and car type. Finally customers can order a tow truck and understand when the truck will arrive. “It works just like ordering an online taxi.”
Digital assistance is free of charge for all clients of Direct pojišťovna with cars in the Czech Republic. “With the freight, assistance is more complicated because they often carry the load or have trailers. Equally, assistance abroad is complicated. There we prefer to provide assistance individually by phone, because clients need a larger spectrum of services – from towing, through temporary accommodation to ensuring the return home.”- Kozub.
The service is provided in partnership with Europ Assistance.
