Compare.com launches homeowners and auto insurance bundling
Since Compare.com launched its auto insurance comparison website in 2013, insurance providers and consumers alike have wanted the option to seamlessly compare and buy bundled insurance products online. Compare.com has now launched its home and auto insurance bundling service in four states and is expected to grow quickly over the first quarter of the new year.
Building off of Compare.com’s success in helping insurance carrier partners bind 10,000’s of policies per month, the website is now helping customers bundle their homeowner’s and auto policies. Compare.com currently offers the service in Virginia, Texas, Illinois and Ohio. Early adopter Stillwater Insurance is anticipated to join Compare.com as a second bundled option by the end of 2016. From there, Compare.com is projecting several additional insurance providers to integrate into the bundling option during the first quarter of 2017. Other bundles, such as renter’s and condominium insurance, are expected to be rolled out during this timeframe as well.
“When Compare.com launched in 2013, we wanted to revolutionize how people shop for insurance,” said Compare.com Head of Product Development, Scott Dalla Valle. “While our focus thus far has been on car insurance, bundling home and auto is an obvious next step. Not only is shopping for two insurance products at once markedly easier than doing it separately, but it allows our carrier partners to present more options on our site. Plus, it helps customers save money and reduce paperwork. Everybody wins.”
The new platform offers consumers a quick and easy way to get the right coverage with the option to bundle home insurance into their car insurance quotes. When a person agrees to see bundled quotes, they will answer just four to five additional questions to receive combined prices. Results will show both bundled and standalone auto insurance quotes.
