AIG to acquire Everest’s Chile business, completes Colombia deal

AIG has agreed to acquire Everest’s insurance operations in Chile and completed its previously announced acquisition of Everest’s insurance business in Colombia. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Everest Chile serves corporate and upper-middle-market clients across property, energy, marine, financial lines and casualty insurance. The acquisition includes its licensed operations, employees and ongoing insurance business.

The Chile transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2027, subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.

The deals expand AIG’s commercial insurance operations in Latin America. Jon Hancock, CEO of AIG’s General Insurance business, pointed to investment in infrastructure, energy, logistics and manufacturing as drivers of demand for commercial coverage in Colombia and Chile, which AIG described as the region’s fourth- and fifth-largest corporate insurance markets,
