AIG appoints Turab Hussain chief risk officer
AIG has appointed Turab Hussain executive vice president and chief risk officer, effective October 12. He succeeds Christopher Schaper, who plans to retire at year-end and will remain with the company through the transition.
Hussain will report to AIG President and CEO Eric Andersen and join the executive leadership team. He has served as global chief actuary since 2023, overseeing pricing, reserving and other actuarial activities. He joined AIG in 2021 as chief risk officer for General Insurance, following senior risk and actuarial roles at PartnerRe and The Hartford.
Graham Fulcher will succeed Hussain as global chief actuary, also effective October 12. Based in London, Fulcher will report to Hussain. He joined AIG in 2022 as chief actuary for International Commercial Insurance, having previously held senior roles at Chubb, WTW and ACE.
Schaper joined AIG in 2019 as CEO of AIG Re. He later served as global chief underwriting officer before becoming chief risk officer in January 2025.
