DoorDash launches restaurant insurance with Authentic

DoorDash has launched a business insurance program for restaurant merchants through DoorDash Insurance Services, its licensed insurance agency, and Authentic Insurance .

The program is available inside DoorDash’s Merchant Portal, where quotes come prefilled with store information and merchants can move from quote to a bound policy. Restaurants can also request quotes through a separate website without logging in.

The offering centers on a business owner’s policy combining general liability and commercial property coverage, with optional liquor liability. Licensed agents can help merchants switch from existing policies.

Optional coverages include employment practices liability, hired and non-owned auto liability, additional insureds, business income and extra expense from loss of drinkable water, and business income from food contamination. Everspan Group was identified as the carrier for general liability and property coverage during a test of the quoting process.
