Everspan names Darwin Lucas president

Everspan Group  announced leadership changes as the specialty insurer positions for its next phase of growth.

Darwin Lucas has been appointed president, succeeding Steve Dresner. Lucas will continue to serve as chief underwriting and reinsurance officer, a role he has held since 2023. As president, he will oversee operations and execution across the platform, with a focus on expanding underwriting capabilities and market presence.

Lucas has been involved in Everspan’s recent growth and brings experience in specialty insurance and reinsurance portfolio management.

The company also promoted Nicole Crowley to general counsel. Crowley joined Everspan in 2024 as assistant general counsel and previously served as products counsel at Coaction Global. She has more than a decade of insurance law experience.

Everspan operates nationwide on both admitted and non admitted bases and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Octave Specialty Group, a global specialty insurance firm.
