Aon launches insurance program for gas power projects
Aon has launched its Power Lifecycle Program, an insurance solution for conventional gas power projects supporting data centers and broader grid demand. The program coordinates coverage across construction, testing, commissioning and operations.
It offers up to $2.5 billion per project in erection all risks and delay in startup coverage, followed by up to $2.5 billion in operational property damage and business interruption coverage for the immediate operational period. Construction and operational third-party liability coverage is available up to $100 million, excluding U.S. projects.
The program is backed by a lead panel of London-based carriers, with additional capacity from local and global markets. It is available to developers, private equity firms funding power projects, contractors controlling construction coverage and infrastructure owners. Clients can also select risk advisory services addressing natural catastrophes, climate, cyber, casualty, supply chain and business interruption exposures.
The launch follows the expansion of Aon’s Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program to $5 billion in capacity in July 2026, extending its infrastructure insurance offering to the power assets supporting digital growth.
