EIR Försäkring and Onuava launch fertility benefit in Germany
EIR Försäkring and Onuava have launched Fertility+, a corporate health insurance product for the German market focused on fertility and family building. The offering covers treatments such as IVF, ICSI, insemination, and social egg freezing, with employer-funded subsidies of €3,000, €5,000, or up to €10,000 depending on the plan.
The product combines insurance coverage from Sweden-based EIR with digital support services from Heidelberg-based Onuava, which acts as managing general agent and provides access to its platform. In addition to financial support, the offering includes medically validated information, webinars, psychological support, and access to specialist consultations across reproductive health.
According to the companies, the product is designed to be fully employer-funded, with no waiting periods, no medical underwriting, and no exclusions. Coverage begins on day one, includes ongoing treatments, and is intended to be inclusive across marital status, gender, and sexual orientation, with partner coverage also available. Monthly premiums typically start at around €3 per employee.
The launch comes as fertility treatment remains only partially covered in Germany, leaving many couples to absorb significant out-of-pocket costs. EIR said the product reflects its strategy of building digital, needs-based insurance solutions, while Onuava is positioning the offering as a new type of employee benefit for employers looking to support workers earlier in the path to parenthood.
