Uber to acquire parking marketplace SpotHero

Uber has agreed to acquire parking reservation platform SpotHero, adding parking booking capabilities directly into the Uber app.

The transaction is expected to close in the first half of 2026, subject to regulatory approval and customary conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Founded in 2011, SpotHero enables drivers to find and reserve parking across more than 13,000 garages, lots, and valet locations in over 400 cities in the U.S. and Canada. The platform has facilitated more than $2 billion in parking reservations.

Uber plans to introduce a native in-app parking experience powered by SpotHero, initially focused on commuter parking as well as event, airport, and venue use cases. The company also expects to add parking-related benefits for Uber One members over time.

For parking operators, the integration is expected to expand demand by providing access to Uber’s consumer base and its network of fleet and vehicle charging partners.

The deal reflects Uber’s broader effort to expand beyond ride-hailing by adding services that support multiple ways people move, including driving.
