AIG appoints Adam Clifford to lead international commercial insurance

AIG has appointed Adam Clifford as Chief Executive Officer of International Commercial Insurance, effective January 5, 2026. Based in London, Clifford will oversee AIG’s international commercial underwriting, distribution, and business operations across EMEA, the UK, Japan, Asia Pacific, and Latin America, including Talbot, Global Specialty, and Multinational.

Clifford joins AIG from Everest Insurance, where he served as Senior Vice President and Head of International Retail Insurance, leading the UK, Europe, and Asia Pacific business. He previously held senior roles at Chubb, including Managing Director of Chubb European Group, and earlier in his career led underwriting teams at AIG in London and Singapore.

He will report to Jon Hancock, CEO of General Insurance, and will serve on AIG’s General Insurance Executive Leadership Team.
