AXIS appoints Erik Rasmussen as head of US healthcare reinsurance

AXIS Capital  announced the appointment of Erik Rasmussen as Head of US Healthcare Reinsurance. Mr. Rasmussen reports directly to Global Head of Accident & Health, Insurance and Reinsurance James “Jay” Hamilton.

In this role, Mr. Rasmussen will lead the AXIS US Healthcare Reinsurance team, shape strategic underwriting direction, and strengthen partner relationships while creating new ones to support the Company’s business objectives.

A veteran within the US healthcare market, Mr. Rasmussen has over 30 years in the industry. Prior to joining AXIS, he spent over a decade at Voya, holding a series of underwriting roles including SVP Workplace Solutions UW & Pricing; SVP Health Solutions Underwriting; and Head of Employee Benefits Underwriting, Group Reinsurance Transition Business and Affinity Markets. Mr. Rasmussen also held underwriting, operations and marketing positions at Allianz and ING.
