QBE North America launches The Influencer

QBE North America announced the expansion of its media liability protection, offering enhanced coverage for companies that partner with influencers to promote their products and services. The Influencer by QBE provides coverage that helps fill a “critical gap” in the market by protecting companies from risks associated with influencer-generated content.

The media liability product requires influencers to complete a learning module that includes an educational video covering advertising best practices and legal principles such as copyright, trademark, defamation and right of publicity. Once completion is verified, the influencer is added to the company’s program. The policy then provides protection for both the company and the influencer against liability arising from the influencers’ promotional content.

The Influencer by QBE is currently available to policyholders and their influencers within the United States.

“Companies face risks when engaging influencers to promote their brands. If an influencer inadvertently includes unlicensed material in branded content, the company being promoted could be exposed to legal action. The Influencer by QBE helps mitigate those risks. Large companies often work with dozens of influencers throughout the year on a variety of campaigns. This enhanced media liability coverage offers a proactive approach to managing the risks of influencer marketing, allowing companies and influencers to operate with greater confidence and protection.” – Chris Cooper, senior vice president, U.S. Head of Media & Professions, QBE North America.
