Trucordia acquires Shipley & Pease Insurance

Trucordia has acquired the assets of Shipley & Pease Insurance, a brokerage specializing in professional liability insurance and risk management services for architects and engineers.

Founded in 1996 by Dave Shipley and later expanded under Stan Pease, Shipley & Pease has grown into one of the largest independently owned brokerages focused on the architects and engineers market. The firm said it has grown 500% over the past decade, driven primarily by client referrals, and is a founding member of AE ProNet, a network of brokers, insurers, and attorneys focused on insurance and risk management solutions for the design industry.

The acquisition expands Trucordia’s specialty capabilities in professional liability while adding expertise in serving architecture and engineering firms. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
