Trucking intermediary Koffie Labs raises $4.5 million

New York-based Koffie closed a $4.5 million round via two seed funding rounds led by Anthemis Group and Lerer Hippeau with participation from 2048 Ventures, Plug and Play Ventures and C2 Ventures.

Founded in 2019, Koffie (a team of ~12) uses telematics and safety technology to underwrite trucking companies, rewarding fleets that invest in safety with discounted insurance premiums. Truckers can receive a quote in “minutes” on Koffie’s digital platform. Koffie’s AI-driven predictive models, which underwrite dozens of safety features, allow the company to build insurance for emerging risks like self-driving vehicles.
