Tomorrow Raises $5.9M to Democratize Estate Planning

Seattle-based Tomorrow has raised $5.9M in equity (SEC FORM D), bringing its total funding to date to $8.5M .

The company, established in 2016 and led by cofounder Dave Hanley, offers a mobile app to help users manage their life insurance, accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, inheritance and financial investments.

Its AD&D insurance is complimentary for a full year for users who (1) download the app, (2) complete the Me section and register for a Tomorrow account, and (3) invite at least three people into important roles such as executor of will, guardian, or a trustee. Once the people invited have accepted their role, the user will be able to return to the insurance section in the app and accept the AD&D offer. To provide life insurance, Tomorrow has partnered with 9 insurers including AIG, Protective and Mutual of Omaha.

That being said, its core offering is estate planning to allow users to keep information on family members, assign roles to people like heirs, beneficiaries (including charities), executors, trustees, and guardians, and track assets, belongings, and accounts to be included in one’s inheritance.

Btw, Arthur Hoki just moved on; after 8 months with the company.
