Tesla Insurance is heading to Florida
Tesla filed to update its Private Passenger Auto program in Florida, effective December 2025. The company has not yet launched in the state since its initial filing in 2022.
Tesla currently offers insurance in 12 states through its subsidiaries and partners.
Tesla’s Safety Score 2.2 adjusts monthly based on driving behavior and mileage, with possible premium changes of up to ±50% per vehicle.
The program includes a group rate for Tesla employees and uses a monthly payment plan with no installment fees.
As a side note, Kin Insurance , which until now has operated in the home insurance market, is slated to launch its auto insurance product in Florida in November.
