Sun Life expands family leave insurance to Michigan and West Virginia

Sun Life U.S. is expanding its Family Leave Insurance (FLI) product to Michigan and West Virginia, offering employers in those states a private option to provide paid family and bonding leave. The fully insured product complements short-term disability benefits and is available to all eligible employees, regardless of state mandates.

With this move, Sun Life now offers FLI in 17 states, with Massachusetts set to follow in August. The expansion aligns with federal paid leave tax credits and reflects Sun Life’s continued investment in leave management solutions for employers navigating evolving workforce needs.
