Spire now available in Texas
Spire, a new auto insurance experience announced by Nationwide, is now available in Texas.
“Texas was the perfect first location to make Spire available to customers . It’s home to thousands of drivers and car lovers who could benefit from this digital-first, forward-thinking technology that finally makes sense of car insurance.” – Scott Liles, Spire’s lead executive.
Using the Spire mobile web site, Texans will be able to apply for auto insurance coverage simply by scanning their driver’s license and answering four easy questions: Where do you park, how many miles do you drive, do you own or lease your car, and have you had more than two tickets in the past year? You can get a feel for the entire process below:
“Spire spoke to Texas millennials about their experiences with purchasing insurance, and they told us they feel it lacks transparency and takes too long. Spire’s technology will ensure their premiums are based on factors that are relevant to their actual driving habits and provide coverage explanations that are easy to understand. It will also drastically decrease the amount of time it takes people to get auto insurance coverage so they can get back to doing things they love.” – Liles.
Spire will offer coverage and features comparable to typical policies, but with an end-to-end digital platform that cuts out the obstacles many customers feel today. Spire also helps customers cancel their existing auto insurance policy, manage their coverage, file a claim, monitor their own driving habits, provide proof of insurance, and earn relevant rewards based on their driving behavior.
Finally, Spire plans to launch additional states later this year.
