SoftBank forms SB Neo to launch AI cloud business in the US

SoftBank Corp. and SoftBank Group have established SB Neo, a new US-based company that will provide AI cloud infrastructure to enterprise customers.

SB Neo, which will be incorporated in Delaware this month, will be owned 51% by SoftBank Corp. and 49% by SoftBank Group. The company plans to launch its neocloud services in fiscal year 2027, offering computing capacity for AI model training and inference to major US enterprises, including hyperscalers.

The venture will leverage the SoftBank Group’s planned 10-gigawatt AI infrastructure and energy platform, with capacity expected to expand in phases toward a 10-gigawatt deployment.

SoftBank said the initiative builds on its AI cloud efforts in Japan, where it began offering a beta version of its GPU cloud service powered by its Infrinia AI Cloud OS software stack in May 2026. The company said it will use the experience gained in Japan to support the US business, while SoftBank Group will contribute infrastructure, personnel, and other resources.

The announcement follows SoftBank’s broader push into AI infrastructure, including plans to launch its AI Data Center GPU Cloud service in October 2026 and develop gigawatt-scale AI data centers in Japan.
