Samsung Fire rolls out autonomous vehicle insurance
Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance is launching coverage for autonomous vehicles in South Korea.
Beyond accidents caused by the negligence of manufacturers, software developers, and vehicle controllers, the insurance will also protect against cyber security risks resulting from external hacking.
The insurer will establish a dedicated call center operating 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and an on-site dispatch system. In addition, the company plans to establish a system for real-time response and data-driven preemptive risk management.
“We will design insurance rates and innovative products optimized for the era of autonomous driving by utilizing actual driving data. Moving forward, as a reliable partner in the changes of the mobility industry, we will realize the establishment of a social safety net in addition to fulfilling the fundamental role of insurance in protecting customers’ daily lives.” – Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance.
