Salty relaunches as AI-native insurance provider
Salty founder and CEO James Hall announced the relaunch of the company as an AI-native insurance provider focused on American households with car payments.
The new Salty.AI will work on customers’ behalf by finding suitable insurance policies, monitoring rates and coverage, and providing support when claims arise. Hall described the relaunch as “unfinished business,” saying the technology needed to realize the company’s original vision is now available.

Founded in 2019, Salty Dot initially offered an embedded insurance platform that allowed consumers to purchase auto insurance during the car-buying process. The startup raised $16 million before being acquired by automotive retail technology provider CDK Global in 2021.
