“It was the appropriate thing to entice them to increase their presence” –  Polk County Commissioner George Lindsey on approving a package that provides $369,000 in incentives over five years to GEICO, the 2nd largest US auto insurer, in exchange for it creating between 300-500 full time jobs, and investing between $10 to $12 million in the expansion of its facility in Southwest Lakeland.
