Pier Filed Form D With the SEC
São Paulo-based Pier has filed its form D with the SEC in connection to an equity round totaling $7.5m.
Established in Jan. 2018 and led by cofounder and CEO Igor Mascarenhas, the company plans to offer iPhones protection for “theft, qualified theft and simple theft” underwritten by Too Seguros. Key Features include: a monthly contract, a zero deductible, and a scheme in which Pier collects a 20% fee, Too Seguros collects a 20% fee, and the “remaining 60% are administered under the terms of the collective policy and intended for community reimbursement for theft and robbery that occurred, depending on the type of protection contracted.” Last, the offer is “currently closed to a small community of trusted people.”
