PetGPT launches pet insurance comparison app in ChatGPT
PetGPT, a new app available within ChatGPT, allows US dog and cat owners to compare pet insurance quotes from multiple providers without leaving the AI platform.
The app collects information including a pet’s breed, age, gender, and ZIP code and returns live quotes ranked side by side, displaying monthly premiums along with key policy details such as annual limits, deductibles, and reimbursement rates.
Beyond price comparisons, PetGPT also provides information about breed-specific health conditions and typical treatment costs, helping pet owners better understand the value of different insurance options.
When users select a policy, they can continue directly to the insurer’s website with their pet’s information already pre-filled, eliminating the need to re-enter details across multiple sites.
We tried quoting pet insurance for both a dog and a cat using the website version, and in both cases the quotes displayed were from Lemonade, Spot, and Fetch. After receiving the quotes, users are prompted to select one of these brands. Doing so reveals a referral link indicating that Wag is the affiliate partner, while PetInsurer (part of Wag) provides the underlying quoting infrastructure.
