NGL acquires Everplans

National Guardian Life Insurance Company , a mutual life insurer serving over 1.27 million policyholders, announced the acquisition of Everplans , a New York City-based digital life-planning tool. Everplans will remain a separate entity and operate as a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGL.

According to a statement made by the company, Everplans will continue to service its existing customers, as well as clients in the financial services, insurance, and employer sectors. Everplans’ leadership team will remain, and the company will continue to maintain its New York City headquarters.

Founded a decade ago, Everplans has managed to secure $15.6 million in funding with participation from RGAX and Transamerica Ventures. The team of 17 operates in a space that lacks both traction and standardization as pricing of legacy planning tools range from free to ‘for-a-fee.’
