A new way to put an insurance carrier together

Behavioral economist Dan Ariely, which thinks that if you sought out a system designed to bring the worst out of people, it would look a lot like modern day insurance, is joining insurance startup Lemonade as its Chief Behavioral Officer. Recall: the company secured $13 million in funding to create a peer-to-peer insurance carrier that will initially focus on offering home insurance. Worth Noting: at the age of 17, Ariely suffered third-degree burns over 70% of his body during a graduation ceremony from an Israeli youth movement that focused on prepping students for the army. Long story short, it was this ordeal that prompted Ariely to study psychology.
