Mobiliar launches Foundera

Swiss insurer Die Mobiliar is introducing a new venture that targets new founders.

The company has launched Foundera, an online platform that offers services around business formation.

Foundera’s services include legal documents, notarization, and company registration. Packages range between $160 and $520 and there’s an option to add additional services (with an added fee) such as business consultation and VAT registration. There are also free add-ons such as insurance and pension advice, along with some perks including a co-working trial.

The new venture is led by Dario Renato Morph.

Staying on the subject of insurers going beyond insurance, AXA’s WayGuard app and service has shut down. In a message displayed via its site, the insurer shared the following: “We, the WayGuard team, have decided to discontinue the service at the end of the year. As you can certainly imagine, the decision to take WayGuard off the market was not easy for us as a team. We are very proud to have launched WayGuard as a pioneer in terms of “safety on the move”. However, due to technological advances and alternative options for emergency call and location transmission, WayGuard’s service is no longer as unique as it was six years ago. You can find more information in our FAQs.”

As background, AXA Germany launched WayGuard in cooperation with the Cologne police in 2016. The mobile app was able to transmit a user’s geographic location to a coordination center that, in case of emergency, would alert rescue services. The app also included chat and prevention tips. Five years after its market launch, and with over 425,000 registered users, WayGuard had established itself as a solid companion app in Germany and German-speaking Switzerland.
