MetLife Pet partners with America’s VetDogs

MetLife Pet Insurance  has partnered with America’s VetDogs to sponsor the training and development of a service dog for a veteran or first responder with a disability.

MetLife is sponsoring Charlie, a three-month-old black Labrador Retriever whose name was selected by company employees. Through America’s VetDogs’ Puppy with a Purpose program, Charlie will spend approximately 14 to 18 months with a volunteer puppy raiser in the New York Tri-State Area before beginning advanced training and being matched with a handler.

America’s VetDogs provides trained service dogs to veterans, first responders and active-duty service members at no cost. The organization says breeding, raising, training and placing one assistance dog costs more than $50,000.
