Lincoln Financial CFO to depart
Lincoln Financial announced that CFO Chris Neczypor is leaving the company to pursue an opportunity outside the insurance industry.
Neczypor, who has served as CFO for the past three years, will remain with Lincoln through the end of August to support the transition.
Adam Cohen, Lincoln’s chief accounting officer and treasurer, has been named interim CFO, effective immediately. The insurer will consider internal and external candidates as it searches for a permanent replacement.
Cohen joined Lincoln in 2022 as chief accounting officer and added responsibility for Treasury in 2024. He also oversees enterprise expense management and fixed income investor relations and previously led investor relations. Before Lincoln, he was CFO of Archwell and spent 13 years at EY.
The leadership change comes as Lincoln continues to reshape its balance sheet and capital position. Last month, the insurer announced a reinsurance transaction with Talcott covering approximately $5.8 billion of guaranteed universal life statutory reserves, or about 37% of its remaining in-force GUL block. Lincoln also announced today that it plans to resume share repurchases in the third quarter.
