Lincoln Financial appoints John Morriss as EVP, CIO

Lincoln Financial Group  has appointed John Morriss as Executive Vice President and Chief Investment Officer, effective October 13, 2025.

Morriss returns to Lincoln after serving as Head of Public and Private Fixed Income at Fortitude Re, where he oversaw insurance-focused investment portfolios. He previously held senior investment roles at Lincoln and TIAA, bringing over 30 years of experience in portfolio management, asset allocation, and fixed income strategy.

In his new role, Morriss will oversee Lincoln’s general account, funds management, and private markets investment strategies, managing more than $300 billion in assets under management. He will report to Ellen Cooper, Chairman, President and CEO.
